To increase access to reliable information, WHO worked with WhatsApp and Facebook to launch a new WHO Health Alert messaging service today. The WhatsApp-based service will provide vital information about COVID-19 to millions of people through their mobile phones. The services uses an AI chatbot to provide updated information on the pandemic, including how to protect yourself, questions and answers, and the latest news and press coverage. The Health Alert service is now available in English and will be introduced in other languages next week. This is part of WHO's wider initiative to work with technology companies to get accurate health information into the hands of people that need it at this critical time.

The Government of India has decided to declare a lockdown across the country till midnight, taking into account the current situation of the Corona virus. Under which the state government is taking necessary action and people are not being harassed. The Chief Minister then instructed that children and patients suffering from thalassemia and other hemoglobinopathy in this situation should not be disturbed, with the help of Indian Red Cross, to ensure that all the patients at the government hospitals located in the district and taluka are being provided necessary arrangements.

Various districts have been allocated to senior IAS officers for monitoring the work done on corona virus prevention. A total of 13 districts have been allotted to JP Gupta, Chief Rajyasik Commissioner to Saurashtra and North Gujarat, and Mukesh Kumar, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Maritime Board.

Speaking at the COVID-19 media briefing, the Director-General emphasized that the virus is capable of community transmission but can be contained with the right measures.

Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani has made an important decision to relieve Gujarat's electricity users in the context of nationwide lockdown in the case of Corona virus.

Reviewing the prevailing situation in the core committee meeting of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister, it has been decided that small traders, shopkeepers and businesses as well as home electricity users in the state, who are due to pay the GEB-Gujarat Electric City Board's electricity bills, will be billed this month. Ta. This has been done till 1st May. 

 

In addition, if the bills are not regularly filled, then the penalty or connection is cut off.

Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani further said that in the event of trade and industry closure due to the current lockdown situation, such business enterprises-small shopkeepers who have to pay GEB bills will not be charged a fixed fee in the bills of April, only consumption bills. The Chief Minister also thanked the Gujarat Chief Minister for announcing a nationwide lockdown for 3 days to prevent the transmission of Corona virus, together with all the citizens of Gujarat, and thanked them for the awareness they have shown to be safe against the virus. Together, he expressed confidence that he would win the epidemic.
