The implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has been started across the nation. In the state of Gujarat also, necessary reforms have been initiated in the education system with regard to the implementation of this policy. This research, as stated in the National Education Policy, is intended to promote mother tongue as well as multilingualism in the teaching-learning process in the education system.

In addition to this, the document states in point 9, 12 that "every effort will be made to produce high quality bilingual textbooks and teaching-learning materials for science and mathematics so that students can study both subjects."

English standard terminology for important words will be included in the textbooks of Mathematics and Environment subject in Std. 6 to 8.
Bilingual textbooks of Mathematics and Science subjects will be implemented in Std. 6 to 8. Textbooks of all subjects except Mathematics and Science which will remain the same in the languages of that medium,
