·         World Water Day is an annual UN observance day (22 March) that highlights the importance of freshwater. The day is used to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
·         World Water Day is celebrated around the world with a variety of events. These can be theatrical, musical or lobbying in nature. The day can also include campaigns to raise money for water projects. The first World Water Day, designated by the United Nations, was in 1993.

Fitch Ratings cuts India’s growth forecast to 5.1% for financial year 2020-21 from 5.6%
·         Fitch Ratings in its Global Economic Outlook 2020 has declined India’s growth forecast to 5.1% for financial year 2020-21 due to the coronavirus outbreak.
·         For FY 2021-22, Fitch has projected India’s growth at 6.4%.
·         Due to coronavirus outbreak, Fitch Ratings lowered the Global Growth forecast for 2020 to 1.3% from 2.5% which is predicted in December 2019.
·         The growth reduce to 1.3% in 2020 which is weaker than 1990 and 2001 global growths.
·         Fitch projected India’s growth at 5.6% for 2020-21 and 6.5% in the FY2021-22 in December 2019.

Whatsapp launches Coronavirus Information Hub
·         WhatsApp has launched a plan around helping governments, health organizations and community workers communicate truthful, helpful information to people during the global coronavirus pandemic.
·         The hub, in partnership with World Health Organization, Unicefand UNDP, will be aimed at health workers, educators, community leaders, nonprofits, local governments and local businesses, giving them provide simple and actionable guidance for communicating using WhatsApp during the crisis.
·         The company is also giving $1m to the Poynter Institute's International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), which it says will be used to fund the #CoronaVirusFacts Alliance, a group which includes 100 local organizations in over 45 countries.

PM Modi formed COVID-19 Economic Response Task Force headed by Finance Minister
·         Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared the formulation of COVID-19 Economic Response Task Force, to be led by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on March 19, 2020. Its objective is to handle the economic challenges arising because of novel coronavirus outbreak.
·         Sitharaman held a meeting with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister Nitin Gadkari, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Animal Husbandry Minister Giriraj Singh and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel to assess the situation.
Roles of task force:
·         It should maintain a regular touch with all stakeholders, take their feedback and make decisions accordingly.
·         The task force is mandated to execute measures to reduce the economic difficulties facing by various sectors.
‘COVID-19 Protection cover’ introduced by ICICI Lombard for Coronavirus positive cases
·         ICICI (Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India) Lombard company has introduced a 1 year-long “COVID-19 Protection Cover”.
·         This policy will pay 100% of the sum insured to the COVID-19 positive individual, irrespective of hospitalization expenses.
·         It provides a sum insured of 25,000 including value-added benefits such as Health Assistance and CHAT/Virtual assistance, teleconsultation and ambulance assistance, as part of the offering.
·         18 to 75 year’s age group are eligible for COVID-19 protection cover.
·         At a premium of Rs. 149. Launched in group insurance mode
·         This policy is about 1 year long and limited to geographical boundaries of India.
·         It does not include people with travel history to any overseas location post-December 31, 2019, people quarantined for suspected COVID-19 or diagnosed with COVID-19 prior to the risk inception date or within the initial 14-Day waiting period.
·         “NibhaayeVaade”: This policy is introduced on the lines of ICICI Lombard’s ethics.
